Are you excited that Christmas is coming so fast? I always wish a few days before Christmas that there was more time. Now is the time to finish things up so no one is frantic Dec. 23 or Dec. 24.
I usually get my shopping done early. Most of it is done, but I have a few more goodies to find still. Maybe, I will shop downtown.
As I drive around the City I see new things happening all the time. I’m looking forward to all the new changes coming this Spring. I really think downtown as well as other areas, like Farmington Ave., will be bussling with activity.
Residents always talk about an ice cream store. We will now have one at the old Guida’s Ice Cream spot. See page 1.
And whether you like the CTFastrak program or not, you must agree it is bringing attention to our City. It just may be the key to bringing New Britain back. New companies are really looking into our City. We may be surprised what it brings.
With food trucks coming downtown, a new Popeye’s opening up and all the new progress our future really is looking good.
It’s really nice to be reporting good news instead of bad all the time. I’m truly excited about our City incase you can’t tell. I hope you are getting excited too.
We need to also send out a congratulations to our football team. The New Britain High School football team made it into the tournament. Although they lost last week they did bring excitement to our City. Thanks for a great season. Thanks Coach Tebucky Jones!
The Chamber of Commerce Awards Dinner was held a few weeks ago. I heard it was fantastic. Read more about its winners on page 2.
Look for more motorcycles on the streets. They are able to go places police cars can’t and are vital to a safe community. Read page 3 for more details.
Remember Wreaths Across America is this weekend. See page 4 for details.
Time for a joke from Facebook.
“My goal for 2015 is to accomplish the goals of 2014 which I should have done in 2013 because I made a promise in 2012 and planned in 2011.”
Does that sound familiar? Every year I put off at least one of my goals another year. Maybe 2015 will be the year I accomplish a new one. If I can remember exactly what they are.
Until next week figure out your goal and keep reading YOUR #1 Most Trusted Newspaper in New Britain.
