Promises Delivered

In the past we have heard many promises made by various politicians in New Britain. Former Mayor Tim O’Brien promised us a tenant at the Berkowitz building, an ice cream store in the center of town and so much more it would take an entire article to mention them all. In reality, none of them came to fruition.
This year we are hearing new things are happening. Mayor Erin Stewart promised us change. She was not specific in what would occur. Just that “change” would actually happen in New Britain.
Now many projects really are moving forward. Costco construction has begun. A new ice cream store will be here in the Spring. Progress is being made at Central Park. A new aerial program will be at AW Stanley Park. Talks are happening concerning our homeless. CTFastrak will be opening and new businesses are expected to be popping up.
Although no politician or Mayor is perfect, it is nice to see that things are actually going forward and it is not just talk and empty promises that are being made.
New Britain needed a new outlook. It is getting a facelift in many ways. As the Spring comes (not soon enough), nearly each week something new is going to pop up.
It will be interesting to see how much this City can accomplish this Spring. It is also nice not to hear false promises made and instead actual “change” delivered.
