Each month or so we plan to pose a question on our Facebook group. This week, we started with “What business or type or business would you like to see anchor downtown?” We had over 300 responses and published some of them for you. In this day and age Facebook is a big tool on getting news and information. We are thankful to have so many people read and enjoy focusing on the issues mentioned.

It brought out a few new things and will be helpful in the future. How do you like fast food trucks downtown? What is your idea for a business to anchor downtown? I could not get all the comments in, but I put in as many as possible. We hope to pose a new question next month for a similar story. What should we ask? Please read the story on page 1 and follow us so you can keep abreast of everything New Britain.

Did you see how much money Mayor Erin Stewart raised as a waitress at West Side Tavern for the homeless? I wish I could make $1,500 on tips. I would quit my job. It’s nice to see a Mayor out there working to help the community. The Mayor did add it was a job you would never see Mayor Tim Stewart doing. I thought that quite amusing.

I went to the Pasta, Potluck and Politicians Dinner Monday night. It was put on by the League of Women Voters. I was surprised more people did not turn out. I wish more residents were interested in what was happening in our City. Seeing it live is always better than reading it in the paper. But, if you missed it you can read the recap on page 3.

On page 4 and 5 are our Candidate profiles. Read each before voting. As far as I can tell only one person did not feel the need to send one in. I will comment more on that at a later date. One other is running unopposed.

Our endorsements will be coming soon. Believe me you will not want to miss that. First, I must watch the debate to make a final decision.

The Mannor Jammer at Marian Heights gets bigger and better every year. It’s great that we have so many car shows in New Britain. I see something new each time.

I found a few things on Facebook I want to post. One is not really a joke, but I loved it so I decided everyone had to see it.

“Destroy racism. Be like a Panda. He’s black. He’s white. He’s Asian and he’s chubby.”

Don’t I wish it was that easy.

Secondly,

“Better Days are coming. They are called Saturday and Sunday.”

You’ve got to love the weekend.

Until next week, have fun on Saturday and Sunday and also BE A PANDA and keep reading YOUR #1 Most Trusted New Britain Newspaper!
