Elections 2014

My name is Piotr Ceglarz, I am a 35 year old New Britain resident. I was born and raised in Rzeszow, Poland. At the age of 9 my family moved to Torejon de Ardes, Spain and then again at the age of 11 to New Britain, CT. I have gone through changes of climates, cultures, languages and diversity. I attended Sacred Heart School and New Britain High School. I graduated in 3 years from Central Connecticut State University with a major in Marketing and minor in Management. For the last 8 years, since 2000, I have been the owner and operator of Ceglarz Motors, Inc.

As a small business owner, I know the hardship and struggles of any size company. The high cost of operating expenses, over-inflated taxes (property, sales, income, corporate, etc.), rising insurance costs and increase on tools/machinery/equipment and parts/supplies. I am highly motivated and driven individual that wants to succeed in this trying economy.

I am very active in the community and I believe in giving back to my community. I take pride in doing this because I believe in investing in our future. I believe the city of New Britain is a worthwhile investment. I currently serve on the New Britain Fire Department Commission and previously served on the New Britain Housing Commission.

I am running for State Representative in the 26th Assembly District because for too long, the residents of New Britain have been poorly represented. I am running because need an individual that is willing to work hard, dedicate himself to the people of the City that he will be representing at the Capital. I am a business owner, a father, a husband, a son and hard working and dedicated in everything that I do. I run/manage a business that has been growing each year and slowly expanding from New Britain to Charlotte, NC as well as exporting vehicles to Nigeria, Poland and Germany. We currently lack a representative in our district who has experience in the business management and who understands the struggles of each resident and business owner in the 26th District. When elected this November 4th, my priority is to help the City bring back businesses by making New Britain business friendly again. With new businesses, we will see lower taxes, create jobs and renewed prosperity. I will promote academic growth for our city schools. I will fight to eliminate wasteful spending. I will make myself available to city residents and work hand in hand with Mayor Stewart to help the City prosper. I am here to make change not only within the 26th District but throughout City and state as a whole. I will not be like my opponent who has served 11 years and has a failing record in regards promoting economic growth or development and who has voted time and time again to increase taxes, increase spending and drive away businesses with poor ideas of increased taxation. We can not afford two more years of the same stifling legislation against the small and mid-sized businesses of the state of Connecticut. With your help, on November 4th, we can stop this downward trend and begin anew.
